PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

October 1994 till present.

Private practice as general physician. Specializing in Preventive Medicine and Primary Care. Full unrestricted license in the state of Florida.

October 1993 and started working in Primary Care.

Successfully passed the Federation License Examination and obtained a license to Practice Medicine in the State of Florida under Chapter 458.311 of the Florida Statutes. Right after I started to work in primary care for different medical centers in Miami, Florida up to November 1994 when I opened my own practice.

February 1992 - July 1993

University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Florida. Worked in Pathology Department as Physician Assistant, responsible for the gross descriptions of placentas and products of conceptions as well as administrative/clerical duties, including the creation of computer databases, retrieving articles from the library and otherwise assisting the faculty in research efforts.

May 1990 - April 1991: SURGERY DEPARTMENT HEAD

Livingston General Hospital, Livingston, Zambia. Performed all duties associated with Chief of Surgery including the supervision of four surgical staff from Europe, Africa and Latin America who were serving under contract with the Zambian government under the auspices of the World Health Organization of the United Nations. Care provided included a full range of treatment from routine general surgery to critical trauma cases and severe burn cases. Conducted training classes for resident doctors, surgical nurse practitioners and medical technicians.

My services were under a competitively selected four-year contract with the World Health Organization but was self-terminated upon my defection from Cuba in Madrid, Spain, in May 1991.
